The design process for creating your fashionable invitations begins when you contact us. Your first step is to complete the inquiry form located on the Contact page so we have an idea of what you’re looking for. Next, you will decide on a design. This will come either from the Prêt-à-Porter Collection, or from the custom Couture option.

Prêt-à-Porter, or off the rack styles are invitation designs from one of House of Papier’s collections. These designs require little or no revision. Therefore, they have a shorter production time of approximately 6 to 8 weeks.

The Couture option allows you to completely tailor the invitation packaging, stationery and embellishments. Due to the customized nature of the Couture design process, the production time is longer and ranges from 8 to 10 weeks, depending on how detailed the design is and the number of invitations ordered.

All invitation designs include a response card, return addressed envelope and an invitation mailer.

Prêt-à-Porter

The production time for Prêt-à-Porter invitations is 6 to 8 weeks for 100 Invites. Production times vary depending on the number of invitations needed. Click through the image gallery below to view the steps of the design process.

  • 2. Design and Stationery Questionnaire

    Complete the House of Papier design and stationery questionnaire. During this step you choose colors and provide stationery content (i.e. names, venue, date, time, etc.).

  • 3. Pre-production

    3. Pre-production

    The House of Papier stationer applies the content from the Design and Stationery Questionnaire to the invitation design.

  • 4. Proof Approval

    4. Proof Approval

    A digital stationery proof is emailed to you for verification and approval of the final design. Revisions are made if necessary.

  • 5. Printing and Production

    5. Printing and Production

    Printing and production begin after Proof Approval, when stationery design, color and content have received your final okay. At this time we will give you an approximate date of completion.

  • 6. Delivery

    6. Delivery

    When your project is complete, your order is shipped via UPS ground. Additional charges apply for overnight or expedited shipping.

Couture

The production time for Couture invitations is 8 to 10 weeks for 100 Invites. Production times vary depending on the number of invitations needed and level of detail. Click through the image gallery below to view the steps of the design process.

    Complete the House of Papier design and stationery questionnaire. At this time you provide stationery content (i.e. names, venue, date, time, etc.) and select other details related to your design.

  • 2.  Invitation Consultation

    A consultation is scheduled at the House of Papier offices in Cedar Grove, New Jersey to discuss your project. If you are not within driving distance, a virtual teleconference or Skype consultation will be scheduled. During this portion of the process we will discuss the particular theme and design elements you are looking for.

  • 3. Project Planning

    The designer will create a project plan for your couture invitation based on the consultation. This includes selecting fabric and custom embellishments. An approximate timeline will be developed and provided to you.

  • 4. Pre-production

    The stationer applies the content from the design and stationery questionnaire to the invitation design.
